Stylist gets in front of my lens
I have wanted to shoot Liz since I first laid eyes on her, but like so many makeup artists, they prefer the relative safety of the shadows rather than the limelight. But now she relented, as long as I made some sexy images of her. Did I ask "why now?", nope, I employed the age old tradition that I have subscribed to for as long as I can remember.....shoot first.... ask questions later!
As I'm now working on a project to shoot and document the people who work behind the scenes, I will soon be able to give all these creatives a brief insight to what it's like to be in the spotlight. I expect the experience to be illuminating in some way for all of us. Stay tuned, all will be revealed.

Turning it around, making the most of a bad day's weather
Again the weather turned bad, this time with raging cold wind as well. But once in the mood to shoot, shoot I must! Knowing the area, I moved us out of the wind and got on with turning a bad afternoon into good images. Of course I had been down this road before, so after digging into our bag of tricks for some suitable threads, we aimed for a better end to the day than looked possible earlier. All good soul food.

At the charity reunion I contributed some of my images from those good ol' days for the slide show
When Joy asked me to contribute to a nostalgic slide show, I started to dig up what I could. although a couple of disasters including a burst water main, had destroyed much of my archive of images, I did get a few together.

Charity event- Reunion of Fashion's Mover's an Shaker's from 70's, 80's & 90's
Joy Smithers deputy chair of HOPE FOR CAMBODIAN CHILDREN FOUNDATION INC, had organised a fundraising reunion night of Models, Photographers, stylists, performers, agents and others involved in the Fashion, Television and magazine industries from the 70's to 90's. This foundation has been working for years to give a future to children whose lives have been affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Cambodia, and seeks to provide support, healthcare and education to children and families.
Joy, herself an accomplished Model and actor for many years, had organised this great night of catchup for a huge cross section of Fashion industry locals to raise funds to help Cambodian children suffering from aids.
What a blast it was to catch up with so many people from the past. I got to see Amanda Curry,
a girl I had found when she was only 14 years old coming off a Manly ferry, and after some shoots sent her off to Chadwicks, and on to bigger things. Michelle Martin who I met via Cathy and worked with over many productive years, and many others. Check my next post for some images, tears and tests from those good old days.

Vogue's Fashion Night Out was huge success for Sydney Fashionistas
My first port of call on thursday night was into Pitt street mall and Vogue Fashion's Night Out, then onto the Fashion industry reunion at Slide. While out watching Sydney people out getting amongst Australia's and the world's best fashion fare, I couldn't help noticing that there were some that needed every opportunity to be exposed to those with some idea of fashion. I'm all for reducing visual pollution of all kinds, so when I spotted this foot attire across the road at a VFNO function, at first had me shaking my head, then put a smile on my face, and reminded yet again of the task that still lies ahead. It's not just the thongs.....it's the dark stockings with light coloured shoes, the shoes at least one size too big, and at an Vogue NO event, NFI, Visual Pollution!
Gillian Cooper seen at TAG HEUER launch of LINK watch range
The night TAG HEUER launched their LINK range, a few interesting Sydneysiders were invited to check out the Link range of watches at the new superstore in Sydney's Centerpoint Pitt street mall. Where I spotted Gillian Cooper checking out the goodies.
